Changes on the Court

Today at 9:30 am, the newest Justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia, Keith Blackwell, will be sworn in by the Governor. Judge Blackwell will replace the retiring Justice George Carley and will become the 92nd Justice to serve on the Court since its creation in 1845.

Also happening this week, Justice Hugh Thompson was named the Presiding Justice of the Court as Chief Justice Hunstein resumed her duties as Chief Justice following Justice Carley’s retirement.
