No Forthcoming Opinions – December 11, 2009

December 11, 2009

Again this week, the Court will not be releasing any new opinions on Monday.  The wait for additional decisions will continue for at least another week.

With the lack of news on opinions to report, we pass along an interesting piece of trivia for appellate lawyers courtesy of the SCOTUS Blog’s Twitter feed: the Latin translation of certiorari is “to be informed of, or to be made certain in regard to.”  Thus, a petition for a writ of certiorari is a petition asking the court to make certain about a particular issue.
